SOLAR THERMAL
What is Solar Thermal.
Solar thermal, also referred to as solar water heating, involves harnessing the sun's energy to generate hot water for household purposes such as showers, baths, and hot taps.
Generating hot water for showers, baths, and hot taps constitutes a significant portion of total domestic energy consumption. In the UK, a household can easily derive approximately half of its annual hot water needs from solar energy.
Feedback from customers indicates potential savings of approximately 25% on the overall heating bill.
REDUCE YOUR ENERGY BILLS
By installing solar thermal panels, the hot water production becomes free as only solar energy is required for the heating system to work.
SOLAR THERMAL
How it works.
Vacuum tube collectors consist of individual tubes that are interconnected via a collector.
The tubes contain the absorber and a heat transfer medium. The latter evaporates during heating, condenses on the collector and transfers solar energy to the solar fluid (solar medium).
A vacuum in the collector tubes reduces heat losses and ensures that the solar thermal system functions efficiently.
Benefits of Solar Thermal
-
Energy Cost Savings: Solar evacuated tubes harness sunlight to generate heat, reducing the need for conventional energy sources and resulting in lower energy bills.
-
Environmental Sustainability: By utilizing renewable solar energy, these systems contribute to a reduced carbon footprint and help combat climate change.
-
Year-Round Efficiency: Solar evacuated tubes are effective even in colder climates and diffused sunlight, making them a reliable source of heat throughout the year.
-
Versatility in Applications: The collected heat can be used for various applications, including space heating, domestic hot water, or even as a supplemental heat source for swimming pools.
-
Government Incentives: In some regions, government incentives, such as the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI), provide financial support for installing solar thermal systems, helping offset initial costs.
-
Long-Term Investment: Solar evacuated tube systems typically have a long lifespan and require minimal maintenance, making them a durable and cost-effective long-term investment.
-
Reduced Reliance on Fossil Fuels: By relying on the sun's energy, homeowners decrease their dependence on traditional fossil fuels, contributing to energy independence and security.
-
Two-Year Workmanship Warranty: Many installations come with a two-year insurance-backed workmanship warranty, providing peace of mind and protection for your investment.
-
Increased Property Value: Solar thermal installations can enhance the resale value of your home, as eco-friendly and energy-efficient features are increasingly valued by homebuyers.
-
Energy Independence: Solar evacuated tubes empower homeowners to generate their own clean energy, reducing dependence on external energy sources and providing a degree of energy independence.
